Our journey

We are creating this blog site to help everyone keep up to date with the journey to Claire. We will try and post everyday as we get going in the process. We have our first homestudy visit on February 6th and we are so excited. This is just one step closer to being able to travel to Veitnam!!

We are very excited for you both and can't wait for the time to pass until you have Claire in your arms! Since we "babysit" the dogs, does this mean that we'll be babysitting Claire too? Love from Mark & Vickie

Jennifer, those of us who know and love you suffered the broken heart you suffered right along with you and now we will rejoice in the upcoming event of adopting your sweet baby child. You are one of the sweetest children of God that anyone could know and you deserve the very best

Legacy to an Adopted Child

Once there were two women who never knew each other.

One you do not remember, the other you will call mother.

Two different lives, shaped to make your one...

One became your guiding star, the other became your sun, moon and stars.

The first gave you life and the second taught you to live it.

The first gave you a need for love, and the second was there to give it.

One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name.

One gave you a seed of talent, the other gave you an aim.

One gave you emotions, the other calmed your fears.

One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried your tears.

One gave you up ... that's all she could do.

The other prayed for a child and God led her straight to you.

And now you ask me, through your fears,

the age old question unanswered throughout the years...

Heredity or environment, which are you the product of?

Neither, my darling neither.

You are the product of love

and I will wait for you patiently.

We are so happy about becoming grandparents! That will be one the happiest day of our lives! Your dad can't wait to spoil Baby Claire! We love and support you and Brian! Here is a poem for Claire Addison Mayes!

My Daughter’s New Daughter

My daughter’s new daughter
How precious and sweet she will be
Beautifully perfect
From her head to her feet

Her ten tiny fingers
And ten tiny toes we will count
All dressed up in lace she will be
With a cute button nose

I will look at her face
And fall in love with her bright smile

I will have to admit
Takes my breath away for a while

I will always remember the day
I brought my own daughter home
More precious than anything
I’d ever known

Now My daughter will have a new daughter

How precious and sweet she will be
Beautifully perfect
From her head to her feet
